Botanist Moritz Goldschmidt (1863 - 1916)

Botanist Moritz Goldschmidt (1863 – 1916), who was a teacher at the Jewish school in Geisa for 30 years, continued the tradition of his fatherly friend’s “Botanical Notes” after Geheeb’s death. Moritz Goldschmidt collected, identified, described and pressed more than 20,000 plants of the Rhön.

The herbarium includes more than 300 folders, lined up a shelf 40 meters long. It is located in the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt am Main.
