Open day with many visitors

On October 1, 2023, the ANNELIESE DESCHAUER Gallery held an open house, which many residents and out-of-towners took advantage of to visit. The occasion was the two anniversaries celebrated this year:

25 years Werner Deschauer Foundation and 5 years ANNELIESE DESCHAUER Gallery.

On this occasion, the Förderverein Kunst, Kultur und Wissenschaft Geisa e. V. presented a special exhibition with a cross-section of the many previous events. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Werner Deschauer Foundation, Board of Trustees member Sylvia Möller showed a power point presentation with a selection of the many funding projects.

Finest song selection impressed

The duo “Valentina Schel & Sebastian Ritz” from Geisa entertained the gallery visitors with a specially compiled program of the finest selection of songs. The two young musicians impressed with German, English, but also Irish and Dutch titles.

In the basement of the gallery, members of the Friends had set up a small artists’ café and invited guests to enjoy homemade cake. Many beautiful photos from the opening of the gallery 5 years ago could be viewed, which Oskar Simon and Werner Ziesch from the photo circle of the association had compiled.

5th gallery birthday

ANNELIESE DESCHAUER Gallery was opened on May 27, 2018. The construction of the stately building connected to the City Museum is the largest project of the Werner Deschauer Foundation. Anneliese and Werner Deschauer signed the deed of donation for the private art collection of paintings and sculptures together with the foundation’s board of trustees at that time. As a permanent exhibition, the artworks are displayed in the gallery. Since then, such illustrious names as Gabriele Münter, Marc Chagall, Gustav Deppe and Salvador Dalí have invited art lovers to Geisa.

Fill art gallery with life

The Förderverein Kunst, Kultur und Wissenschaft Geisa e. V. with its chairwoman Doris Heim has set many accents to enrich the cultural life of the town since the gallery’s existence. The gallery attracts visitors from near and far. The advantage of this art platform is multifaceted. Thus, well-known regional artists, but also very young yet unknown talents have the opportunity to present their works of art in exhibitions, their songs in concerts and at vernissages, or their expertise in lectures to the public.
