Inauguration of the new oven in the Borsch bakery The Werner Deschauer Foundation Geisa promotes charitable, non-profit, cultural and ecclesiastical purposes in the town of Geisa in accordance with its statutes. This also includes the preservation of local history and customs. This year, for example, the thorough renovation of the bakehouse and the purchase of a new oven were supported with a financial contribution from the Werner Deschauer Foundation. The Borsch Bakehouse Interest Group, led by Sabine Volkmar, invited guests to the official opening of the new oven in the bakehouse on December 1, 2024. District Mayor Sabine Volkmar and First Deputy Mayor Simone Kleinstück welcomed the numerous guests. Members and friends of the Backhaus interest group had prepared many culinary offerings in and around the winter-decorated bakery to get in the mood for the Advent season. Among other things, there were sausages and meat loaf from the new oven as well as stollen and home-baked Christmas cookies.
